“The Constitutional Court has ruled that the Land Restitution Amendment Act is unconstitutional.
Earlier this year, various grassroots organisations challenged the act, saying there wasn’t proper consultation with the public before the bill was signed into law.
In 2014, government reopened the land claims process which allowed those who were forcefully evicted from their land to lodge claims for compensation or restoration until 30 June 2019.” – eNCA
