“We are focusing now on the Regulation of Agricultural Land Holdings Bill during the 2016 State of the Nation address. The president first announced that a bill regulating the ownership of land would be published for comment and tabled before parliament. Public comments close tomorrow and the bill’s underlying objectives include distribution of agricultural land and raising agricultural output and food security. In its current form the bill has as one of its objectives the establishment of a public register that details public and private agricultural land. It also prohibits the acquisition of land by foreigners, advocating instead for the leasing of land…” – Moneyweb
